GIS Application Managed Services support
HDS’s offshore GIS team, partnered with Patrick GeoSpatial’s leadership, allowed one of the largest utilities in the world to cut operating costs by maintaining GIS support services. With the slow growth and challenges of the past few years, many large utilities have shifted focus from growth to cutting and managing costs to maintain profitability and margins. One utility asked whether they could outsource their GIS support desk and development tasks to realize savings while still maintaining quality and responsiveness. Our friends at Patrick GeoSpatial had previously worked with this utility and established a reputation for quality work and performance. The missing piece for Patrick was that the client specifically wanted to investigate a hybrid onshore / offshore model. That’s when they approached HDS.
Patrick knew that HDS’s Offshore team is comprised of former ESRI developers and consultants with deep product knowledge as well as utility industry experience from projects in their own country. They also knew that HDS’s former experience managing offshore teams at Tier 1 Systems Integrators meant a well developed and seamless offshore operation and experience. This gave Patrick GS the confidence to bring in HDS Offshore to supplement their team and have the assurance that their biggest client would be well served.
Now in the ninth month of the initial experiment both the client and Patrick GeoSpatial have had their expectations exceeded.
